In the years before, during, and after World War II

Anna Baum’s books are collections of short stories written in fictional form but based on biographical material, outlining vignettes from the lives of Polish Jews, and relations with their neighbours, before, during, and after the War.

Anna Baum was born near Lódź, Poland. After the Holocaust, she returned to Poland in 1946, where she was a teacher and school principal, Anna Baum emigrated with her husband and two children to Canada in 1957.
